Weapon types

Filed under: Uncategorized — basileios @ 10:55 am

Something like a running theme again is the mention of various weapons and firearms. A Mannlicher appears earlier, a Colt and now a Mauser.

  1. This novel is filled with many references to technological devices.
The Machine and the Figure: mentioned on pages 138-148 are the specter of a future where humans are not in control.
Weapons are part of that future: with their power, accessability and
dangers-as well as their protective qualities and fascinations.

  2. interesting. it does make sense. So far I ‘ve been seeing them as objects of the looming distraction and catastrophe.
