Doubled up

Iceland Spar is full of doubling references and Lake’s sexual intercourse with Sloat and Deuce is another manifestation of this in pages 268, 269. However, reading this section has made me consciously or unconsciously to link it with Katje Borgesius in Gravity’s Rainbow (double agent, wasnt she?). This somehow has put the Lake – Deuce/Sloat relationship under a different perspective for me but I have somehow realized something completely different as well.

I have read about 300 pages of Against the Day and I see that it has changed me already in a way that has placed even Gravity’s Rainbow under a new perspective. I now know that i will not be able to read Gravity’s Rainbow without keeping it Against the Day (lol).
