Deuce and Lake

Deuce and Lake’s relationship and characters must be very close to being the most confusing that exist in any work of fiction (or in real life). Pages 486 to 488 bring out another aspect in their relationship that somehow gives deep insight in the way both feel, but at the same time puzzles you about some of their actions. This must be as one of the most ‘heavy duty’ parts of against the day and it certainly takes a lot of reading and thinking to come down to any sense about this pair. Head on collision with Against the Day, and my brain hurts already…
